12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 12/2/2015. Pours slightly hazy golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste big tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange rind, pine, cracker, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent pale ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Clear pale, looks amberish. Aroma has some mixed hop character, lightly tropical but also bit of skunk mixed with fruity character. Tastes fragrant, easygoing but yet has character. Nice hoppy pale ale, perfectly on balance. Sessionable to say the least. This was a good one, I can imagine drinking myself more and more of this.

Hazy copper orange with a white head. Loads of hop notes. Citrus fruit, light tropical notes, herbal tea leaves, light toasted caramel malt sweetness. Crisp, sharp finish. Fresh. Very enjoyable.

Can. Gold color and lacing head. Balamced, a little sweet. Bitter hops. Sweet malt, green fruit. This is ia xecent but I am surprised it is rated quite so high.

Bright. Floral, melony hop nose. Balanced hop is grapefruit and melon. Balanced biscuity. Caramelly. Fairly bitter finish. Diacetyl comes out as it warms...bleh

Come on, how can you not appreciate a can a beer called fist city? Get a fist if you don’t agree, yeah, go freakin Chicago with all your ills. What else can be said, this is ale, just for you and yours, with all its ills, uncovered in natural rude ale form. Has the typical smell of highly hopped pale ale, almost ipa in the oooolfactory. Was hoping for a Chicago style lager, but there, you have it, ale in all its unnatural glory. Good co2 from start to end, at least one good thing. Oh yea, it is liquid too.

Can from Stone in Asagaya. Pours a clear gold with a big soapy white head. Aromas of grapefruit, orange and honey with some pine. Taste is pretty similar with a bit of grass and more honey. Slightly sweet with a little bitterness on the finish. Nothing special really but good on a hot day.

Fist City Chicago Pale Ale 5.5% First customer at TNT! Can. The nose is a juicy peach + tropical fruit aroma. Medium bodied with a fairly soft but sandy mouthfeel. A well-balanced flavor, fruity hops, sweet malt backbone a but syrupy and a pretty dry finish. No wonder it made that 23 Illinois beers to try before you Die list.

Can from Julie. Pours translucent copper with a slight white head. Aroma is pretty hoppy - citrus/pine and stone fruit. Med body or better. Decent malt backbone with a hefty dose of ruit and citrus hop. Finishes not dry and pleasantly bitter.

Can. Pours a clear golden color. Nice finger of white head leaves some spotty lacing. Big grapefruit and pine aroma. Taste follows with more of the same; grapefruit, citrus, pine, and a touch of sweet malt. Light moutheel with above average carbonation. IDK how this isnt an IPA, but seriously; this is a very, very nice APA. On my list EVERYTIME I?m in Chicago.
