Different Spaghetti Western batches aged for six months in Grappa barrels. Armoa is rich and intense, recalling grape, coffee liquor and black cherries. Mouth is dry, body is light with a slight winey acidity.

On tap at Vrteลกka 2016, Belgrade. Pours dark brown with medium tan head. Roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, ripe fruit, sourish. Grappa comes with some alcohol, bit spicy. Sweet. Dry finish. Medium to full bodied. Nice one and interesting combo.

Bottle @ home. Black stuff. Tastes like bayleaf, parsley and basil. I was looking for beer, not soup. I donโt really know what grappa is but I donโt like it.

33cl bottle. Pitch black pour with a tall, fine-grained dark tan head which gives way to a thin velvety lacing. Notes of wine barrel (which could be the grappa, no idea), white wine, roasted malts, dark chocolate, whiskey, wooden barrel sourness, light dankness/funkiness, pralines, roasted coffee beans (especially in the aftertaste). Very complex bouquet of flavours and a very unique beer, overall. Full bodied, thick but watery (i.e. not oily, sticky or cloy), with a light carbonation and a bitter-sweet finish.

Cream-tan head reduced to rim in secs; virtually black beer. Roasted & alcoholic nose, sweetish, malty, , vinous, fusels, distilled. After a short while, also earthy. Pretty roasted to burnt taste, nearly dry stout, but the finish is warm alcoholic, near vinous sweetness; Dark fruit, grapes, plums. Despite the grappa dominating, the balance is there. No real stout acidity, but instead the grappa giving a mild piquant; Alcoholthinning and -heat, rather well-bodied, oily, near-viscous feel. Low in carbonation. Like it!

Tap into a snifter showing pitch black with a finger of latte colored foam. The nose shows a wondrously intense yet balanced mix of roasted malts, dark chocolate/cacao and a pepper warmth in the background. Very inviting nose. The palate is smoothly carbonated but slightly too little possibly due to the barrel aging. Light bodied. Perfect balance in flavor of roasted malts and chocolate. Barrel aging and cacao balances out the roasted malts to avoid any overly bitter burnt notes and a certain brightness. The grappa barrel adds a slight tannic edge with a barely noticeable sweetness to aid the balance of flavors. Over all, once again, another extremely well done stout by Prairie.

Bottled (BDX). More or less pitch black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is black coffee with some espresso and chocolate notes along with mild liquorice and wood. Flavour is quite similar, but also has a mild nutty and ripe fruity edge to it. Slightly tart notes.
