A markedly different saison recipe, suited for the colder months. 01|24 is rich, fruity and spicy, with a slick, warming body of rye malt. Its rounded palate of yeast esters and noble hops belies its higher strength.

Hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light, fairly dry and has decent carbonation. Smooth dry malts, mildly sweet, modest rye tang. Herb. Trace of citrus. Light and mildly bitter finish. Not enough going on for me.

Draught at the brew house. I am outvoted but I didn’t like this beer at all. Overpowering flavour of liquorice and murky colour.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo. Hazy golden body with a thick off-white head. Lively carbonation. Musty aroma of toffee apple, wheat, wholemeal bread and pastry. Flavour of pine, weak tea, yeast and earth. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Light fizz. Unusual and interesting.

330ml bottle. Hazy, yellow-ish, dark golden colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, slightly lacing, white head. Fruity aroma, notes of apple, apple purée, hints of pear, a touch of oat flakes, herbal-spicy yeasty overtones. Taste is peppery spicy yeasty, herbal, disguised fruitiness with hints of apple and pear, some rye spiciness as well, a touch of oat flakes again, hints of mustard seed. Very mild, the Saison character isn’t overly pronounced; or, at least, rather sweet-ish and not overly dry.for a Saison. Not bad, though.

Bottle from Sourced Market Victoria. It pours hazy bright gold with a thick foamy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, foamy banana candy, apple, pear, cracker, cereal, spice and hay. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, sweet banana, apple, pear, candy, spice, straw, white grape, sharp alcohol and white pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Maybe a bit sweet and boosty, but decent enough anyhow.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from the brewery. Pours lightly hazy gold with a fluffy, white head. The nose holds ripening tangerine, melon, dry hay, wheat bread, a little yeast. Light to medium sweet flavour with further bready sugars, juicy citrus fruits, some honey, faint tangy lemon, pale grain. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. In the finish, there’s more airy wheat bread, touches of lemon meringue, straw, white bread crust, more tangerine. A very nice saison.
