US Pint can from KWM Wines, drank at home during a mini-tasting with myself on 26th April 2024. Almost black in colour, beige head. Malty front with a sweet leaning, some chocolate notes within. Not too sure where the 'Belgian-inspired' silkiness went too?

1 pint can from RAD beer in Shropshire. A very dark brown coloured pour with a healthy beige head which doesn’t hang about very long. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel and some dark fruit in there. Decent enough stout.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a large foamy tan head. Aroma of dark malt with some chocolate and arguably yeast. Med body. Smooth and silky it is. Flavor is dark malt, chocolate, and discernible yeast/spice. Good flavor.

Canned 6/1/22, drunk 11/5/23. Clear dark brown. Large, light-tan head showing good retention. Fruity, with a dusting of cocoa, lightly fruity esters and a clean finish. Soft, silky, lighter bodied though not thin. Some residual sweet chocolate and light vanilla with a touch of roast and plentiful cocoa. Clean with fruity, Belgian yeast character and low phenolics. No alcohol or overly bitter/roasty notes.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a fairly opaque brown glow and a pretty nice two centimetre tall just off-white head that fades pretty slowly. Aroma of roasted malts, oatmeal, light grain, a dash of molasses and some raisins with a big kick of bitterness noticeable at the end of the nose. Medium-bodied; Rich grainy notes of oatmeal and roasted malts with a big bitterness showing the molasses, raisins and figs here with some brown sugar as well and a good kick of alcohol still noticeable as well along with some very subdued coffee ground notes as well. Aftertaste is rich and robust with the malts and bitterness playing off each other and not showing much else nor any real sweetness - this is just pungent and bitter throughout, especially at the end. Overall, a pretty robust and deep, dark and bittering beer with a lot of astringency and seemingly more alcohol than what is listed on the can without much complexity and not enough sugars or creaminess for the style. Nice to sample from Ally, but I was expecting quite a bit more from this one, sad! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 13-March-2021 for US$3,69 sampled just over two years later at my house here in Washington on one of perhaps the last chilly days of the season, right before leaving for Hawai`i for Spring Break on 01-April-2023.
