On tap at Hop Vault, Stourbridge. Pours almost black with a large cream head and good lacing. There’s roasted malts, coffee and nuts in the aroma. In the mouth it is briefly sweet and juicy, but some underlying bitterness soon comes through. Flavour has cola and dandelion and burdock plus traces of ash and berry fruits,. Some bitterness in the finish. This is a decent porter.

One-third pint, draught, shared with Finn at Head of Steam. Near black in the glass, filmy layer, spotty lacing. Moderate berry skins and liquorice nose, dry. Flavoured with dark chocolate, some kind of berries, and liquorice, lightly spiced. Rounded dark malty ending, slightly roasted. Smooth. A bit thin on the swallow. Fair enough. (Birmingham 13.02.2023.)

Delt med Rune. Svart. Mokkafarget filmskum. Metallisk sjokoladearoma. Kanskje litt lakris. Smaken røde bær. Bærpreget fortsetter inn i en lett tørr bitter avsliutning.

Tap at the brewery. Poured a clear, almost black colour with an everlasting frothy, light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate,. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, liqourice, chocolate, medicinal hop palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not sure this beer was 100%.
