Pitch-black silky body, strong coffee and chocolate notes, intense yet heart-warming alcohol, the bitterness of the hops matched by the bitterness of the heavily roasted complex malts. If this delicious beer doesn't inspire you to stare at the night sky, contemplate our place in the universe and philosophize with dear friends, then nothing will!

Appearance: opaque deep brown to black with a one finger tall brown head of mediocre retention. Aroma: dark malts, treacle, esters, chocolate & coffee, biscuits, some stronger vodka-like alcohol, vinous, some salted baking reminiscent of German brezel. Taste: moderately sweet, intense maltiness (roasted and toasted), chocolate, esters and dried fruit, moderate vodka-like alcohol (grows stronger as the beer gets warmer), hop. Light plus ending bitterness. Palate: Full body, soft to average carbonation. Summary: powerful, rather complex, nice aroma. Pleasant taste, too, when it's cold enough. Otherwise the booze would let you know how high the ABV is.
