Fra Sainsbury´s i Grantham. Drukket på rom 320 Travelodge Cambridge Central. Amber. Lavt tett skum med litt farge. Aroma av søt karamell. Smaken rosiner & svisker. Sherryaktig. Bra den - men vel søt. Lite bitterhet.

500ml bottle. Poured a clear dark amber colour with a short-lived fizzy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is malt, and woody hops. The flavour is moderate to light bitter and sweet, with a malt, light sweet caramel, woody hop bitter palate. Medium amber to light bodied with lively carbonation. A fizzy ESB? No thanks.

Bottle from Morrisons. Pours a clear copper colour with a thin off-white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee and bread. Taste is more caramel and toffee, toasty bread and a touch of spice. Medium body, average carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Medium to full body, smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Nice traditional malty ale.

500ml bottle from Morrisons. Pours clear amber, small white head, keeps some retention. Aroma of toasted malts, biscuit, earthy hop. Bitter and dry at the beginning but then semi-sweet, toasty, biscuit and nuts come to the fore. Moderate body and carbonation. Its a good example of an English bitter without the wow factor.

Historical tick which I am adding as a rate so that I can see the impact it has on my stats. 500 Beers To Try Before You Die. Missed out on this one a couple of times when it ran out before i got to the Spoons that had it no (Crosse Keys in the City and Tilly Shilling in Farnborough). FThen found a bottle in M&S in Brooklands and was yeah it's twiggy.

Amber coloured with small beige/gold head. Aroma is very sweet, creme brulee, malt, bit of coffee, caramel. Taste is equally sweet and sugarry. In fact pretty much the same as the smell. In spite of myself, I quite liked it, but it was definitely nothing that special and got a bit sickly the second time round.

Bottle. Malt and whisky aroma. Some roasted malt, coffee and apple. A firm bitterness. Some licorice. Nice, fairly complex and tasty ale with even a slight alcohol burn.

Bottle in Trade from Mark. Clear amber pour, mininal head. Sweet, tannic aroma. Taste too recalls tobacco, but comes off as too sweet. Just not liking this one.
