Deep amber in colour, Old Winter Ale is a strong beer with a malt, cookie and liquorice aroma. The prominent Crystal malts add sweet, nutty flavours, balanced by floral notes from Target, Challenger and Northdown hops.

The aroma is malty and grainy, without any fruity ale notes - just like a German bock. A touch of caramel and a dash of herbal hops. Some oily toast when it warms up. The flavor has a shade of sweetness, but the dry hoppy and nutty bitterness hides the sugar right away. Some good diacetyl smooths the body. Nice.

Bottle from my Secret Santa Sabine :) Many thanks. Aroma caramel, nutty, overall malty, some light metallic off notes. Beautiful clear brown colour. Head dissipates rather quickly. Taste is malty, nutty, caramel. Easily drinkable, rather low carbonation. Really good.

Bottle, small bubbly creamy head, clear lightish brown color, aroma of honey, ttoffee, biscuit and some traces of oxidation, flavor of caramel and biscuit with some hints of honey and a medium to light shrubby bitterness, body is a tad to light, quite dry. Nice and pleasant.

Pours a dark coppery color, topped with an average beige colored head. Malty aroma, notes of caramel, biscuits, slightly buttery and nutty with some soya sauce aroma. Taste is sweet with notes of caramel and biscuits, finishes with a very mild bitterness and some spicy feel right at the end. Easily drinkable, smooth.
