Deep amber in colour, Old Winter Ale is a strong beer with a malt, cookie and liquorice aroma. The prominent Crystal malts add sweet, nutty flavours, balanced by floral notes from Target, Challenger and Northdown hops.

500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5.3%. Copper to amber colour, big to moderate off-white head. Malty and nutty aroma, also notes of toffee and caramel. The flavour has a moderate malty sweetness and nutty and biscuity notes, hints of raisins and caramel. "Dusty" hops in the finish, bitter aftertaste. Quite good.

Warning! Early amateur rating! A dark beer but comparatively light in body. Treacle and toffee provide a lip smacking start followed be a dry finish with a slighty bitter hop aftertaste.

Copperbrown beer with medium and beige head. Aroma is biscuit like malty, caramel and some red berries. Flavour is malty, biscuits, soem caramel, wooden hops and some bitterness, but still quite long lasting hoppy aftertaste. However, the flavour is slightly boring and the aftertaste is uninteresting. Quite light to drink with slightly biting carbonation. Beer with typical Fuller’s houseflavour, but uninteresting and mild; basic beer.
