Extra Pale Ale with Orange Peel and Natural Flavors

Orange X is a fresh new take on our classic extra pale ale. We combined the crisp, light balance and generous hop profile of X - Extra Pale Ale with the bright, juicy citrus character of orange in a tasting room exclusive here in San Diego. The positive response was so overwhelming that we decided to trust in our fans by putting it into cans. Orange X for the people!

Can from Beergium. Orange, cloudy beer. Aroma has strongly orange and mandarin, but also some artificial and stinky aroma. Taste is in better balance with limited amount of orange and also some drier bitterness.

Dark straw colour, just a little bit of bubbly head. Smells like McDonalds juice. On the palate, this is a piney, vaguely chewy IPA with some candyish orange. This is a weird one. Why bother?

12 oz. can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma smells like orange soda, with orange peel, orange extract and all sorts of natural flavour. Flavour is artificial as hell, with orange extract, natural flavour and orange peel. What the hell? AleSmith, why are you brewing shit like this? Not good at all.

Can. Amber beer with a cream head. Grapefruit and light tangerine aroma. Earth and light tangerine flavor with grain. Medium bodied. Earth and grain linger with citrus.

Unclear, orange colored, medium- white frothy head. Aroma is of some malt, orange, citrus and fruity medium- hops. Taste is medium sweet malt, light caramel, orange, bit hardcandy, medium- citrusy and fruity hops, medium bitterness, dry finish and lasting bitter orange aftertaste. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. (can, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

Can, pours like a hefe. Can't really smell any orange in there, just simple clean beer, perhaps a mild metallic nose. Taste is bitter sharp APA. Weird bitter green grapefruit rinds. Not impressed. Almost strangely astringent on the finish, whew.

Can at home. Almost clear golden with fluffy off white head. Indeed quite some fresh orange peel up front, but also lots of tangerine. Light grapefruit, dry malts, soft grassy hops. Not so much malts actually, lots of oily orange and some hops. Medium sweet and bitter. Bit under medium bodied with dry crisp feel. Maybe a bit overdone but quite pleasant drinking.
