75cl bottle from the brewery. Appearance - deep brown to black. Slightly off-white head. Nose - blackcurrant and wood. Taste - blackcurrant lozenge, burnt wood and something resembling prunes in Armagnac but dry. Palate - medium bodied and dry through middle and finish, despite the higher ABV. Overall - good.

Bottle thanks to Ashton McCobb. Pours clear dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of blackcurrant and caramel. Taste has demerara sugar, prunes. Nice.

Tired at the Leicester Beer Festival 2020. Black colour with a tan head. Malty and light smoke aroma and taste. Smooth full body.

On tap at BrewDog Leicester. Mid-brown and translucent with a ring of beige head. I smell the rum, big a beautiful, but little else. Tastes sweet, tummy but also a big hit from the dark malts. There's molasses sugar and light spice in the finish. Softer carbonation. Not bad stuff by any means, but the base beer us so delicate that barrel-aging gives you the rum and little else. Not the least bit subtle but certainly worth giving a go.
