On cask at the Strugglers Inn, Lincoln. Off black colour with a big tan head. Aroma is roasted malty. Taste dryish medium body.

26th Oct 2014. Surprised to see this in the Stockbridge Tap, Edinburgh, so had a pint (cask). Black with a smooth tanned foam head. The aroma was a liquorice infused molasses affair, sweet yet not really. The taste was similar, a semi-sweet, yet dry brew with liquorice there from start to finish, became almost sour towards the end of each sip: might have been one of the last drinkable pints out of the barrel? Decent, but could have been fuller bodied in my opinion.

On cask at the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - treacle but more predominantly liquorice. Taste - liquorice again but with a distinctive blackberry note. Palate - medium bodied with a dry texture and unfortunately a really short finish. Overall - good but the body and short finish is an issue.
