Modeled after the classic “Marzenbier” (pronounced “maer-tsen beer”) Octoberfest style that was traditionally the beer served at the Munich Oktoberfest. This is the classic amber lager.

Pours hazed gold into a stein. White head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Caramel aromas. Soft with sweet candy corn and toffee upfront turning to mild dry earth in the medium length finish.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane's Beer and Wine. Appearance is clear, light amber with minimal sparkle, ephemeral off-white fizzy head with no lacing. Aroma is caramel, vaguely metallic and tart, European hops. Taste is as aroma. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, lively carbonation and mostly sweet, dry finish. Overall, not the strongest of flavors but representative of the style.

Can from Ice Cold Beer Here 2. It pours a clear orange color with an off white head. The aroma is bright and floral with some herbal hops, caramel and light toast. The flavor is light and dry with some herbals, orange and some hints of caramel. Pretty nice overall. Drinkable.

Fresh 16 oz can, purchased at Spruce Creek provisions. Clear orange in color liquid with thin lasting head. Aroma is toasted grain, sugar, and light earthy malt.
The flavor is correct for the style and reflects the aroma. The only downfall is the thin watery body. (almost like an ice cube melted in my beer) Was really hoping for better mouthfeel. Overall slightly below average.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a delicate bronzed golden orange color with a quickly dissipating finger’s worth of white foamy head. No lacing.
The aroma is normal O-fest material - structured toffee/caramel sweet malt. Appropriate level of nuttiness. Sly sweet breadiness. Subtle toast. Grassy bitterness.
The flavor leans mainly sweet. Appropriate use of bittering grassy hops coincides nicely for the balance.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with clearly a fantastic sessionability about it. Light carbonation.
Overall, this one was a very nicely done Oktoberfest by an American brewer. If this is what America has to offer for this style, this is well recommended.
