A recipe from 1890s London with an unusually high proportion of brown malt helping to give it a distinctive nut brown taste. Cluster and Fuggle hops help to round the flavour off.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Big hiss on opening. Expected a gush, but it didn't come. Dark copper colour. Very hazy. Thick, foamy, pale beige head. Nose has some nutty, fudgy chocolate. Some cake mix. Smells a bit like a Nutty bar, from donks back. Taste is dry and vinous, with a little residual, nutty sweetness. Medium body. Big frothy fizz. Bit of a twang to finish. Well, this has a bit of a bug or two. It is well up to its BBD. But that maybe has worked in its favour, because this was very enjoyable.

Tried at just beer Newark. Deep Brian colour with a tan head. Fruity and grainy aroma. Taste light sweet, felt a bit rough around the edges.
