A rich russet brown, this ale is a wonderfully smooth and satisfying mild. Well hopped, gently fruity with a solid malt base. Available in April and May only – but certainly worth the wait.

On tap at the Ritz, JDW, Lincoln. Deep Ruby colour with a thin light tan head. Slight malty aroma and taste that also has a touch of fruit. Decent beer.

Cask at the Full House, Hemel Hempstead, 04/06/14. Clear chestnut brown with a well appointed beige covering that retains well, good lacing ensues. Nose is biscuit malt, light roast, toffee, tea leaves. Taste comprises red berry fruit, biscuit crumble, earthy tones, brown bread, light cocoa. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light drying effect in the close. Decent mild.

Gravity at the Bree Louise - London. Good mild. Pours clear, light red-brown with a slight, creamy tan cap. Toasty brown bread nose. Light sweet flavor with more brown bread, some dirt, toast, suggestions of dried berries. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Balanced finish, some further toasty bread, light dirt bitterness, toasty leaves, for sure dried berries. Simple beer, classic mild.
