Super is an amber beer with a fine, light hazelnut colored and persistent head. The scent immediately reveals a nice complexity: fruity and warm notes, such as cooked plums or apples, are complemented by hints of vanilla, toffee, almonds and a delicate touch of orange.
The taste confirms all the promises perceived by the nose, with the addition of notes of biscuits, almonds, nuts and a subtle spicy finish with licorice.

Flaske 0,25l fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Drukket hjemme 9 Jul 12. Mørk gulbrun med et høyt luftig skum som varer en stund. Litt uklar. Moderat fruktig aroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er dominert av mandler med antydning til syrlig frukt. Litt uvariert.

Bardzo wysokiej klasy strong ale. Artyści z włoch wyprodukowali wspaniałe i rozgrzewające piwo. Aromat bogaty, wygląd wspaniały, mętny i z miedziano-czerwonawą barwą. Nuty owocowe w zapachu szczególnie dominują. Polecam zdecydowanie wszystkim tym którzy gustują w Belgijskich smakach.

Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria tap ($10): Pours a brownish colour with a small white head. For some reason they said this was a tripel on the menu, but this is anything but. Aroma is mostly fruity and yeasty. Taste is slightly sweet, with a whole bunch of fruit flavours. Alcohol is covered up just fine. Pretty good, but this is really nothing special. I doubt I would have purchased it if it were not on happy hour.

25cl from Vinmonopolet. Pours golden amber with a small white head. Aroma of fruits, malt, caramel and alcohol. Sweet, malty and fruity with som some alcohol flavor. A hint of bitterness in the flavour. Quite nice ale, but a little too much alcohol flavour and tutti frutti for my taste.

Sampled from a 0.25l bottle @ Beer Enthusiast release party. Pours a dark honey-amber colored body with a small sidesticking off-white head. It has a light sweet malty aroma, some yeasty tones, a little bit of cardboard, almonds and banana sweetness. The texture and mouthfeel is soft oily and it has a average carbonation level. Flavors are light sweet-ish, malty with traces of candy sugar, almonds and ripe berries. Also some hints of alcohol and it's leaving my mouth light dry. Yeah, quite a tasty one. 23.04.2012

Bottle sample at Beer Enthusiast release tasting, Bergen. A dark amber beer with a slightly off-white head. Aroma with a lot malt with leather, dried fruit, brown sugar, corn, caramel, and alcohol. Reminds me of a barley wine. The taste is dominated by sweet malt, wood and leather, brown sugar, spices. Bitterness: light+. A real belgian dark strong ale.

100ml sample from tap at Open Baladin, perfectly served in a snifter glass. Amber coloured body with a deep reddish shade, almost clear. Tiny head, spotty lace. Aromatic with focus on fresh and dried fruits. Spiced, sweet fruity taste added by honey sweetness. Bittersweet ending with a careful vapour of alcohol. Medium bodied. Very nice (Roma, 31.03.2012).

25/05/2011 Open Baladin Roma (tap). Ambrata intensa, con riflessi rossicci, schiuma bianco sporca non molto persistente. Aroma intenso di malto caramellato, con note fruttate di ciliegia. In bocca delude un po’ le aspettative, risultando estremamente dolce, quasi zuccherosa, un po’ monocorde. Stucchevole alla lunga, manca anche un po’ di corpo. Carbonazione corretta. Una discreta belgian strong ale, gradevole e bevibile, ma non molto ben bilanciata.
