St. Bernardus Prior 8 is a traditional abbey beer, brewed in the classic dubbel style. The original recipe dates back to the times when we still brewed under licence for the monks of Westvleteren. This delicious beer is chestnut brown, emitting a deep red glow and presenting a lovely rounded head. EBC 50.

Deep dark ruby brown colour, small frothy light tan head, recedes after a while to a thick layer, good lacing. Rich aroma, sweet malt nose, caramel, raisins, figs, dark fruit syrup, bit soap, liquorice, chocolate. Taste medium sweet, light bitter, fruity, light spicy notes. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, aftertaste smooth sweetbitter, fruity notes, hints of chocolate. A really good dubbel, very smooth indeed.
