Brewing an American IPA, but with a Belgian twist...that's the idea behind Amer-Amer. We chose two American varieties of hops, but only use whole hop flowers cultivated in Belgium.
Taste: The 'Belgo-American' hops have a better balance in flavour and a less aggressive bitterness, without losing taste or intensity. Dry hopping with Cascade enforces the beer's rich aroma.

330ml bottle. Minimally milky, orangey golden colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grassy and piney, minimally floral, citrusy, hoppy aroma, caramel malty background, notes of fresh hay, a touch of lemon tea and chamomile, some weed and moss. Taste is dry, floral, piney and grassy, slightly citrusy fruity and minimally leafy hoppy, notes of fresh hay, some weed, lemon tea, a touch of chamomile, lime, caramel malty basis without residual sweetness. Quite dry, crisp and refreshing. Very nice.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice small head. Dry hoppy aroma. Starts mild, malty, modest dry. More and more hoppy-bitter. Some citrus notes. Finish milder, less hoppy. Okay.

Bouteille 33cl @ Henri - resto Bruxelles.

Ganska torr och stram i både doft och smak. Gräs, örter, lite jordig och kryddig. Känns potentare än sina 6% men saknar lite finnes. Ok+

An orange beer, a head is big, clouding and blond. Aroma has fruitness, flowery hoppyness, spicyness, typical De Ranke. Taste has spicyness, flowery hops, low fruitness, dry and medium bitterness. Medium bodied. Great beer, recognized as De Ranke.
