Brewing an American IPA, but with a Belgian twist...that's the idea behind Amer-Amer. We chose two American varieties of hops, but only use whole hop flowers cultivated in Belgium. Taste: The 'Belgo-American' hops have a better balance in flavour and a less aggressive bitterness, without losing taste or intensity. Dry hopping with Cascade enforces the beer's rich aroma.

Flaska. På många sätt etr typiskt De Ranke öl. Mycket örter. Storr torrhet. En liten tvålighet i eftersmaken. Någonting gör dock att det här inte känna lika elegant som ex. XX-bitter. Kanske för att den är starkare?

Bottle from Honest Brew. Hazy amber body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of blood orange, fresh basil and caramel. Flavour of crushed paracetamol, vine tomatoes and straw. Medium body with an oily texture. Light fizz. Raw and bitingly bitter.

Sampled between ratebeer and brewver, so dont have a specific tasting note sheet. Typical de ranke, dry, clean, yet robust and a tad 'raw' sorta speak. Very full flavored, this goes to the XX bitter profile, all be it a tad less bitter. This should have more hoparoma, but it doesnt show that much. Think they should amp that up to really call this an IPA 7.1 - 04-09-2019

Rerate 15-04-2025 , Bottle thnx to Nino. Pours between blonde and amber, with a medium sized, stable white head. Scent is mild, amber maltyness. Mild grassy, green hops. Taste is sharp and bitter - quite bitter I may add. grassy, herbal, 'green' hops over a ambermalty, slightly caramelly base, crunchy and fresh. Still feel like this is fairly low in hoparoma , concidering it being an IPA, but I must say I enjoyed it more than the previous score - so upping it to a 7.4

Bottle 0.33l at Etiquette wine bar, Brussels, Belgium. 23.08.2019. Pour it hazy orange color with small white head. Aroma Belgiam yeasty note. Taste the same, some smooth hoppy notes, interesting.
