Ale brewed with feijoas & aged in wine barrels. A beer that is developing cult like status in NZ and around the world due to its quality and scarcity. Feijoa is New Zealand’s second national fruit and this is surely a one of a kind beer! Be sure to savour the flavour.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Clear golden colour, white foam head and aroma of feijoa, funk, lemon-lime citric. Taste is sour, pale malt, feijoa, fruity, citrus, bretty funk, with some saltiness and drying bitterness. Slick mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry sour acidic finish. Nicely drinkable.

Panda at home, thanks to Graham / Grumbo, 20/08/23. Almost clear light golden with an off white cap that thins to spotting. Nose is tarte fruit esters, green berry must, funk, damp cloth, hedgerow, herb, light acidic nostril tickle. Taste comprises sharp citric juice, grape skins, damp oak, barnyard esters, funk, hay bale, light bretty pangs. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with balanced acidity. Tidy well balanced sour.

15/7/2023. Bottle shared at SBGP3. 2019 vintage. From New Zealand Beer Collective. Pours clear pale golden with a small frothy white head. Aroma of lime, guava, gooseberry, flowers, sour pineapple, wood, light herb. Moderate sweetness and medium tartness. Medium body, spritzy carbonation. Drying tart finish. Very nice.

500ml bottle as part of a delivery from the New Zealand Bert Collective and drunk at home. Light to mid-golden and hazy with a small foamy white head. Lots, and I mean lots of sediment. Aroma of gooseberry, loquat, lemon juice, candy sugar. Sour taste with juicy sourness lying beneath, leading to a relatively short finish. More lightly sugared gooseberry in the aftertaste. Full body, medium to heavy carbonation. Incredible.

Pours unclear yellow, no real head. Scent is intense, burnt rubber, sweat, pretty bad . Taste is sharp, bit acidic, plastic (burnt plastic) , vinegar. Very, very off to me.
