Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 750 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 2/25/2019. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense and rocky khaki Nice head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, molasses, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Minimal booze in the aromas as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, rye whiskey barrels, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, licorice, molasses, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, roast, charcoal bitterness; and rye whiskey/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, spicy rye whiskey, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, coconut, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, light smoke/char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, rye whiskey barrels, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a fantastic roast/hop bitter/sweet, and rye/oak spiciness balance; with no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness, and rye/oak spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 12%, with minimal lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an amazing barrel aged Russian imperial stout! All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, rye whiskey barrels, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mellowly bitter/spicy/tannic/drying finish; amazingly soft for the ABV, not overly bitter/tannic. Perfectly balanced super rich malts and Rye barrel presence/integration; with nice earthy hop presence and restrained fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and top tier quality style example as expected.

1/17/18 stamped on bottle. Nice whiskey bite, dark fruit, warming after every sip.
