Day 2 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, Tap at the brewery tap - Forchheim, 25/01/14. Clear golden with a moderate white head that retains well. Nose is floral, light spice, grassy, caramel, orange notes, bread dough. Taste comprises lemon rind, light caramel, bread dough, straw, faint vanilla notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Solid Helles.

Sehr helles Bier mit fast keinem Schaum. Der Geruch ist leicht hopfig-muffig. Im antrunk frisch-herb, breitet sich langsam im Mund eine sehr angenehme Süße aus. Eigentlich bin ich nicht so der Fan von "Hellem", aber dieses hier find’ ich richtig gut!Im Nachgeschmack süßlich-hopfig!

Bottle looks very simple, but not bad. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts dry, a bit metallically, spicy background. Finish still dry, all in all quite mild. Okay.

Bottle @ Chris’ house in Fürth. Clear, yellow appearance with a white head. Pretty bland, straw/hay, lightly husky, lightly floral aroma. A bit chewy, lemon, somewhat husky grainy flavor finishing with a fairly dry, lemon taste.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is bready malts, fruits and some slight grassy and mild starchlike notes. Flavour is quite similar, but less starch and more metallic notes instead.

Bottle, Vollbier Hell. Clear green-golden, fine carbonation, white head. Nice grassy nose, medium light mellow dry body. Chewy, light hay, herbal, grassy bitter finish.
