Brakspear Oxford Gold is a remarkably zesty brew, with fresh, citrussy aromas and a firm, fruity flavour. Pale ale malts provide the beer with its gold-gilt shimmer, spruced by a hatful of crystal malts to give body, texture and a delicate honey’d wrap.

Bottle from my local off-licence ‘Wine Rack’. Pours a clear golden colour with a thin throthy white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee and bread. Taste has more caramel, toffee and bread with added notes of biscuit and marmalade. A slight earthy hop on the finish. Thinnish body and slightly oily mouthfeel. Quite nice .

Bottle from local small grocery on 10th April 2020. Pours hazy copper with shallow film and scant lacing. Nutty malt aroma, with hazelnut. Slightly spiced malts in-mouth and a sweet finish of caramel and nuttiness, along with a few leafy hops. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Klar bernsteinfarben mit weißer Schaumkrone. Verhalten malziger, leicht hopfiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig mit etwas Honig, hopfig, schwach fruchtig. Leicht süß mit leichter Bitterkeit, leichter bis mittlerer Körper mit sanfter Kohlensäure.
