[Senatsbockanstich 2021] Yeah, hoppy! Nose is grassy, hoppy, malty, fruity. Taste is hoppy, dryish-bitter, red berries, herbal, typical Bock-sweetness. Nice bitter finish.

Great roasted caramelly beginning. Dry hazelnuts, fruity and dry in one. Moderate bitter, very dry and fantastic caramelly creamy. Great stuff. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hamburger Senatsbock (2021 Edition) on 06 May 2021 at 23:29 - Score: 7. Original review text: Great roasted caramelly beginning. 0,33 l bottle out of the mixed Senatsbock 2021 sixer. Cloudy dark red brown with a more than one finger beige foamy head. More licorice than malt on the nose, so a lot of hop. Taste starts intensive hopy, roasted malt with licorice. Citrus. Pine. Dark bready. Low to zero carbonation. Strong and good.

Bottle picked up from the Beyond Beer Webshop Hamburg consumed at home Saturday 27th February 2021 after a day spent gardening, listening to Hamish Hawk - From Zero to One. Pours dark chestnut in colour with an off white head. Another very good Doppelbock from this six pack, hoppiness more prevalent than in the previous bottle, however maltiness and strength are never far from the fore. Piney and resinous in terms of the hoppy influence, nice bitterness for a Doppelbock, but caramel and molasses also play their part, really nice beer.

Süffiger, dunkel malziger Beginn. Deutliche Bitterkeit, die Malzigkeit bleibt konstant, moderat herb. Langer malziger Abgang. Nett, könnte vollmundiger sein. 10/9/11/9/11/10
