From the world's first Small Beer Brewery, 'The Original Small Beer Lager' is rooted in the pilsner style, a Saaz hop backbone provides the continental nose & the undeniable bitterness on the finish. A sprinkling of Mosaic & Galena give subtle hints of white fruit, a nod to new world aroma. Clean, crisp and fresh - a brilliantly refreshing beer!

Bottle at home, from Waitrose online, 04/03/21. Almost clear golden to light amber with a good sized cap formed of thinly knit white bubbles. Nose is pale malts, grains, wheaten notes, porridge oats, grass. Taste comprises pale malts, light cereals, grains, light herb, touch of saccharin. Light to medium body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Passable AF affair ... touch of aspartames coming in a little thick here ... preferred BD's AF logger bier over this. Not one to revisit for me.

Bottle from Tesco. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of potato and grass. Flavour of earth and lightly roasted malt. Thin body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Forget about the ABV, this isnโ€™t just a good low ABV beer, itโ€™s a clean, tasty Lager.

[35cl bottle at the Terrace Restuarant, RHS Wisley.] An amber pour with a losoe white head and heavy carbonation; bready aroma; sweet grainy taste with a grassy bitterness. Reasonably full bodied, and very pleasant to drink.

Bottle thanks to James. Appearance - golden with decent lacing. Nose - lemon and brown bread. Taste - light citrus and biscuit. Palate - light bodied, decent crunchy texture. Dry, malty finish. Overall - considering the low ABV, this has a lot of depth.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft (maybe? it could have been somewhere else). This one gushed, not aggressively, but decidedly. Pours mostly clear pale yellow, lightly effervescent, with a frothy white head. Quite basic, lots of dry cereal, some paper, crispy biscuits, hay. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Dry and papery in the finish, more pale grainy biscuits. Not the best, but OK given the super low ABV.
