Imperial Stout + Chocolate + Raspberries
An imperial stout brewed with raspberries and Valrhona cocoa nibs. Rich flavours of chocolate and fruit collide with boozy heat.
Building on our repertoire of wild stouts we have combined our love of locally foraged fruits with our penchant for sweet dark beers. The combination of fruit and chocolate is always amazing and what better way to combat the cold nights of the changing seasons than with a rich warming stout?

Sample at AIBF 2017. Plack with a frothy, brown, foam. Loads of chocolate and raspberries. Almost like a raspberry/chocolate fondant. Intense, sweetish and tart at the same time. Great marriage with berries and stout.

On tap at Wild Beer at Jessop House. Pours black with a fluffy tan head. Raspberry, chocolate, lots of tart raspberry juice, coffee, toast, something a bit burnt caramel. So fruity, so chocolatey but surprisingly not too sweet. Delicious.

Bottle from Waitrose in Northwood. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head that doesn't linger. Roasty, malty, chocolate, tart raspberry on the nose. Tastes the same, roasty, malty, chocolate, tart raspberry. I'm a big fan of raspberries and this grew on me as the beer went on, likeable Imperial Stout.

Draught at CBF Wien. Thanks to Geiserich!
Black body, with a medium, creamy, lacing, dark beige head.
Aroma of raspberries, milk chocolate, cocoa, some caramel, some coffee.
Tastes pretty similar.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes sweet, a bit roasty, with chocolate, raspberries, some roast.
Very nice. Pretty sweet, with lots of raspberries and chocolate. A bit too less toasty, doesn't feel very much like an Imperial Stout. Still very nice to drink, smooth stuff

On tap at The Craft Beer Co Covent Garden, Black beer lasting tan head. Roast dark malts aroma. Then jammy red fruit flavours in mouth. A bit like a strawberry jaffa cake. Delicious. Bit fizzy. Lovely balanced flavours. Dark chocolate and strawberry jam. Lovely.

Last beer of the night. 20th Nov 2017. Shrewsbury Beer Share Group Meeting in Chez Sophie. Cheers Mike for this 750ml bottle with it's red wax cap cover. I thought the Jambo might be to do with the traditional Kenyan greeting, but it is obviously about Raspberry Jam! Black bodied with a tan top. Malty, chocolate, but mostly Raspberries in the both the nose and taste. Would have gone down great with a bar of Cadbury's Fruit & Nut Chocolate.
