Bottle at home, from an online peddler whom I can't recall, 15/12/24.# Lighter shade of black topped with a good sized lasting khaki head. Nose is earthy roast, dried red berries, cocoa powder, toffee, charr. Taste comprises earthy roast, cocoa powder, freeze dried raspberries, charr, toffee, dusty fruits. Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, light drying close with just a hint of alcohol. Okay stout ... this bottle has a few years on it and it's coming out a good touch over the average score for me!

Almost opaque dark brown beer, short pale tan head. Smooth palate, slightly soft, modest fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, a light and tangy dark chocolate. Very mild bourbon barrel fruits. Light finish. Okay, I get it, not everyone wants a big chewy in yer face BA stout but even knowing that I feel like I want to tell the people whom this beer may appeal to, to just try the bigger stuff and live a little.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of red grape, vineus oak, chocolate, booze and licorice. Taste of licorice, malt, red fruit, chocolate, oak, red grape and some yeast. Strange, this tastes more like red wine ba than bourbon. Solid.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, hints of cocoa, fruity hoppy hints of white grapes, gooseberry, green apple, cautious, woody, oaky Bourbon overtones. Taste is minimally sweet, roasty dark malty, slightly chocolately, slightly vinous, fruity hoppy, hints of cocoa, white grapes, gooseberry, a touch of liquorice as well as a touch of oak with tannic overtones, a very cautious touch of Bourbon; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. The Bourbon BA notes are well embedded if not a bit too cautious; the woody- and fruitiness give the impression that parts of the beer could have been matured in White Wine barrels as well. Slightly oily texture, smooth and soft palate. Very nice.
