So we wanted to make a black beer but we also wanted to brew an IPA. So, the answer was simple! This Black IPA was brewed with Irish Pale, Chit and Carafa Malts and loaded with hefty doses of Simcoe and Columbus hops. The end product is a black beer that bursts with Pineapple, Orange and Grapefruit aromas backed up with a toasty malt backbone with hints of chocolate and coffee.

Almost black with lasting head aided by solid carbonation. There's a decent base beer in there somewhere but it's hidden behind some weird sweetness. Cinnamon cola? Nutmeg? Liquorice? Salmiak?

44 cl. can @ home, bought @ Rovin, Dongen. Dark brown with a beige head. Roasted malts aroma with citrus hops. Sweet taste with a nice bitter finish. Wonderful example of a Black IPA, combining the roastiness of a stout and the hoppiness of an IPA

440ml can at home. Pours a chocolate brown with a thin tan head. Nose is grapefruit, fruit cocktail aroma. Flavour is a brilliant balance between that fruit hoppiness and the roasted malts.
