Regular John is our first, and long-awaited, IPA! For the recipe we started from the same malt deposit we used for our Harvest Moon Pale Ale – so 5 malts and grains! For the bitterness we hopped Regular John 3 times with 3 different hops. Tomahawk is a trusted bittering hop for our brewery, and in the late & dry hopping Azacca and Crystal provide the pronounced hop aromas.

Clear golden beer with a white head. Aroma of sweet fruits, caramel, resins herbal and floral hops. Taste of moderate sweet herbal pale malt, honey, some resinous hops, moderate bitterness.

Pours clear amberblonde ,medium white head, fairly big bubbles but stability is average nevertheless. Scent is very weak. Hint of malts, silent on hops and yeast. Taste is fairly bitter. Old maltyness, not fresh and bright at all. Lacks hoparoma. Bready, with a touch of ambermalts perhaps ? Medium finish, only consisting of bitterness. Lacks complexity and balance, and surely isn't fresh for a year that has one more year bbd. Drinkable , but wouldn't order again.

Very good dense, just off-white head over clear amberish golden beer with light carbonation. Rainwater, wet dog, bit of caramel, lightly coloured malts, bit grassy. Faraway oxidized hops. Sweetish, amandine, rosewater, sweet watery fruit. Sweetness increases with time. Aftertaste has a somehow cloying bitterishness. Sticky, but empty MF. Not very carbonated. Made me think of the Brigand IPA, first of the Belgian fake IPA's. Thanks to Stef!

Clear golden colour with lasting fluffy head. Aroma and flavour have a light citrusy hop notes. Well balanced and full bodied IPA. A little green apple crispness in the finish too.

Oranje bruin bier met mooi stevig schuim. Smaak is fruitig en bitter hoppig met iets van mandarijn, ananas en abrikoos. Ondanks de wat minder uitgesproken smaak een prettig bier.
