Silver Champion Golden Ale, Champion Beer of Britain Competition
Explorer is light and refreshing, suffused with the aromas of a grapefruit grove. The citrus attack will burst on your palate as the hops deliver their fruity bitterness.
Available in 500ml bottle and in keg in selected Wetherpoon outlets.
Pale Ale malt is used to provide the biscuity backbone of this blonde beer but it’s the hops that give it its personality. We use two American hops, grown in the Yakima Valley in Washington. These hops, called Columbus and Chinook, add wonderful grapefruit flavours to the beer.

Slett ingen dum blondine.

Bottle on the train to Edinburgh, cheers to JP for the pour - 08/12/12. Lightly hazed pale golden with a thin white head that soon clears to the edge and leaves a pond. Nose carries peach, mandarin, light hops, pale malt, some yeast notes, sugars. Taste comprises mandarin, peach, hops, more subdued in taste that nose, some sugars. Medium bodied, light carbonation, some bitterness in the finish. Average doings.

Cask at the Castle Inn, Cambridge. Clear amber pour with a broken white head. The aroma is fruity and spicy. The flavour is very bitter, spicy and with citrus grapefruit notes. This is a truly exceptional ale from Adnams who should be congratulated for brewing out of the box. It's uber refreshing and my kind of session ale.

Bottle from Pangaea Bottle Shop. Pours hazy gold with a slight white head. Aroma is primarily bready. At best a hint of citrus. Med body. Flavor is sort of kolsch bready with some citrus/grapefruit hints. It finishes moderately, or less, bitter.

Aromat kwiatowy. Piwo w smaku wyraźnie chmielowe, goryczkowe. Kolor złotawy, ale jakby lekko mętnawy, napewno nie klarowne. Piana niewielka lecz trwała i utrzymująca się do końca picia tego dobrego trunku.
