Sometimes you simply want a beer that’s just delicious. One that’s crisp and flavorful, a subtle balance of malt and hops - a traditional beer. You don’t just want a kölsch, you want a beer that’s Kölschtastic.

Tap @ Både &, Kristiansand. Unclear golden body with a small white head. Not much aroma here, some citric fruit and mild malt. Flavor is unusual and a bit strange, fruit drops, rubber, light malt and not much bitterness. A hint of lemon appears after a few more sips. Medium to thin bodied and aftertaste actually reminds me of a slightly harsh Radler with the lemon type of sodapop flavor. Not my thing.

Nice crisp golden and lightly copper glow with a thinnish, one to two centimetre tall pure white head with a little movement throughout. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic and funky malt flavour at first with a big dose of funk and grain with some light sugars, a bit of low alpha acid hops and a touch of cardboard near the end. Aftertaste shows more of the cardboardie funk and grain with a little bit of metal and grass with hardly any hops and no real complexities at all - this is fairly simplistic throughout. Overall, a pretty standard beer for the style without any real enjoyable or complex flavours at all - this is relatively mundane and only showing the malt and cardboardie flavours with some of the off/funky notes and not much else and no real complexities. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from BeerTopia in Omaha, Nebraska, yesterday on 01-October-2017 for US$5,49 sampled in my hotel room here in Omaha, Nebraska on 02-October-2017 a day later and not really recommended unless you love the style or want every Gigantic beer.

On tap at OBF. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. A nice citrus and biscuit nose. Smooth toast, some oranges, pils malt. Clean. Well done.

Tap at OBF 2015. Pours lite gold with a slight white head. Aroma - citrus? Med body, almost. Lots of non-bitter citrus, some "bread". Flavor: This is "Imperial", tho not ABV wise. Much more flavor than expected. Köln should aim for this.
