ABOUT THIS BEER

This Christmas 2016 Festive Hop Gremlin beer, available in a festive sized 750ml bottle or 30 litre keg, has our hero in a Christmas jumper and angel wings in the Fair Isle style, along with a Santa hat and red ears. He also has been given, in the traditional festive style, red eyes. Festive Hop Gremlin is normally a kinder, more ‘zen/peace-on-Earth’ type of guy (Dr Jekyll) than his Radgie* cousin Hop Gremlin (Mr Hyde). However, he can ‘turn to the dark side’ if fed or given a drink after Midnight.

500 ml bottle, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 5.6%. Cloudy brownish golden colour, large white head. Nice aroma of fruity (tropical fruits, citrus) and spicy hops, also notes of pine and spruce. The dry flavour has notes of grapefruit, pine and spruce. Bitter finish. A half-decent American-style IPA, a bit one-dimensional, nothing particularly festive or "Christmassy" about it. Too bitter and resinous.
