This was poured into an English pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color. Rimmed with a slim white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Messy lace.
The aroma starts with sweet milk chocolate rolling into a subtle robust coffee bean. Sly saline quality. Dry woodiness.
The flavor follows through in the sweetness of the chocolate. Some brininess/saline taste comes through but ever so slight. Sweet milk chocolate aftertaste with the same sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body like a porter with a fair sessionability about. Since the briny to saline quality is so lean, it also shows in the feel so no distraction and actually feels like a porter with a gripping salty drying throatiness.
Overall, different for a porter. Still, I would have again.
