Roxy is based on a Trappist ale aged in a mix of Cognac and Bordeaux barrels blended with a soured barleywine for extra complexity and a touch of balancing acidity

Enters with a tight tan head on a dark chestnut beer with red highlights. The aroma is dried dark plums, sour cherry, vanilla. The complexity of the nose carries through on the palate with coconut, dark chocolate, and caramelized figs. The mouthfeel is viscous with chest warming alcohol, light acidity and a salted caramel finish.

(Keg at Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto, 20190711) The beer poured brown and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had tartness, vineousness, raisins, wood and berries. Palate was full bodied, dry and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were tartness, sourness, raisins, malts, sweetness, banana, wood and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, tart and bitter. A very complex and still delicious brew.
