Das Sommerbier – frisch, leicht und herrlich süffig. Das Waldstadt Pale Ale ist unsere Interpretation des englischen, obergärigen Bier-Klassikers, der sich dort bereits seit über 300 Jahren großer Beliebtheit erfreut. Gebraut mit hellem Pilsnermalz gibt der vor allem deutlich zitrusbetonte Cascade-Hopfen, der beliebteste Hopfen der USA, unserem Bier seinen Charakter als American Pale Ale. Strohgelb und unfiltriert.
Im Antrunk zeigt sich unser Pale Ale weich und ausbalanciert. Malz, feiner Biskuit und fruchtige Ester von der Hefe bereiten das Fundament für eine frische Ladung Hopfen. Spritzige Zitrusnoten, und Aromen von Ananas und süßer Marmelade bringen den Sommer samt Erfrischung auf die Zunge. Am Gaumen verweilen herbe und ausgewogen bittere Aromen von Hopfen, Zitrusfrüchten und Gras.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with average, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy and grassy, hoppy as well as biscuity, pale malty aroma, notes of lemon, lemon peel, lemon biscuit, a touch of lemon balm. Taste is bitter, herbal grassy and minimally citrusy hoppy, hints of lemon balm, a touch of lemon, pale malty basis without residual sweetness. Oily texture, smooth and soft palate, fine and soft, almost a bit flat carbonation. Light, simple, easy drinkable - OK as starter for the sceptical craft beer newbie, does in no way overstrain.

Bottle: Pale golden, no head, cloudy, pretty similar to lemon juice, mild lemony-bitter nose, mineralic traces underneath; mild to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied, pretty soft; mild juicy-hoppy finish. Quite an inoffensive brew, still well drinkable...

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek' (Dortmund), best before November 2020. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity-floral aroma of pineapple, gooseberry and some lemon peel. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, gently fruity-floral taste of pineapple, lemon peel and gooseberry, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Thin to medium body, moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant Pale Ale, rather tame and restricted but still nicely fruity.
