American Hazy IPA

We’re working on honing in on our style of hoppy beers, and Sun Jungle is an example of where we’re at in the process. Brewed with a bit of wheat and a lot of Citra and Nelson Sauvin, we focused on getting the right texture and mouthfeel in this one. Lots of mango and tropical fruit give way to some really nice resin and citrus. The finish is dry, in a way we really enjoy for the style. We like this beer a whole lot.

473ml can. Pours a cloudy orange yellow with a medium, foamy, short lived, white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, grapefruit, peach, passionfruit, earthy yeast and light piney hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, orange, mango, green grape, passionfruit and earthy yeast in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A tasty juice bomb.

Can. Hazy and pale with a fairly big, frothy head. Looks appetizing, can't lie. Nice aroma - melon, weed, grapefruit. Happy hops. Sweet pale malts provide just enough backbone, and good body, to get the hops across. Cannabis, pineapple, cantaloupe, all that good stuff. Very nice balance. Lots of bitterness, too. This is good shit.

Can from the brewery, via Sergey
Murky pale blond colour. The aroma is fruity, with tropical and zesty accents, and a bit dank too. Bone dry, highly carbonated; the mouthfeel is also lightly chalky; the chalk and absence of sweetness accentuate the astringency and the pithy bitterness; although, there are some nice, aggressive, piney hop resins. Well, it's not too dirty, anyway.
Good.

355mL can, pours an opaque chalky yellow with a small white head. Aroma is chalky, with gentle dank hops and lots of chalk. Flavour is very chalky, with gentle dank hops, lots of chalk, and biscuity malt. The least impressive hop-forward beer from Studio so far. Way too chalky.

Very hazy milky yellow body and okay foam. Lots of vegetal hops on the nose, slight pine and citrus, skunk cabbage throughout. Flavour is subdued wet pine, soft chalk, all too watery sadly. Refreshing maybe but oiliness is important on a beer like this and it's missing.
