IV. SWEATPANTS /// We are a big fan of Boombox Beer, so even a pandemic wasn't going to stop us from working with these masters of the hop...but you know, with lockdowns and such, we had to do it via the internet. Naturally, we brewed an IPA but decided to have some fun by propping a custom tropical yeast blend and throwing in Pink Guava and Passionfruit. It's a tropical daydream leaving you wondering where the fruit party started and the hop's end.

Because the Internet (7.5%) • DDH Fruited IPA, brewed with Canadian Pilsner malt, Flaked Oats, Flaked Barley, and White Wheat Malt; Hopped with Azacca, Citra, Ekuanot, and Sabro; Fruited with Pink Guava and Passionfruit; Fermented with a blended wild/hazy yeast strain (V. 3005)

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5

Good foam, deep chewy yellow body and little visible carbonation. Soft guava aroma, maybe passionfruit, a little muddled. Flavour is plenty of juicy guava, vague passionfruit notes, slight piney hops. Juicy finish, abv invisible. I'd prefer a little more hops to help balance it out but it's still enjoyable.

Murky pale blond colour. Fruity aroma, citrus. The mouthfeel is lean, with minimal residual sweetness; some chalk, light passionfruit, fruity hops, bitter citrus peel; the fruit seems to accentuate the bitter citrus oils, the pithy character, hence the finish is not elegant or pleasant. Ok beer. Rather dirty concept.
