An experiment in changing the definition of what beer can be. This blend consists of beer that was fermented and aged in wine and brandy barrels for an average of 9 months.
100kg of Gewurztraminer grapes were hand crushed and added post-blending to kick off refermentation in a fruiting barre. After five months of skin contact, something truly unique has evolved from these components. Bottle conditioner. Please enjoy at cellar temperature in a stemmed glass.

A pour at I hope not a super spreader event Weathered. Appearance: hazy pale with a white head. Aroma: sour vegetables and fruits, with some barrel notes. Taste: along the same lines, moderately acidic. Overall: ok.

Good puffy foam, stormy carbonation, mellow pale straw body. Strong acidity on the nose, soft wood barrel, musty yeast lingers. Flavour is soft maltiness accented by wood, soft wine notes. Mellow acidity, sweetness lingers. It has a nice rustic vibe to it, though a little simple, and it has to be said that these Vinifera bottles are incredibly expensive for what they are.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals a touch of funk, dusty grape skins, and a little vinous oak character. Flavour is fairly vinous, with lots of acidity, dusty earthy skins, and a little vinegar. Extremely acidic, almost stomach-churningly so. There's little complexity or depth here. For $30 (plus tax), this is extremely disappointing.
