Named after Pompeii which was famous for not only the volcano that destroyed it, but the amazing mosaics on the walls of the ruins. This IPA is created with the same attention to detail as the beautiful mosaics that graced the city of Pompeii. It features mango and pineapple hop flavors with a medium-body feel to tantalize the senses.

Hazy IPA by Toppling Goliath's extended production plant, can from an online shop - at a good price, but alas, several months past the indicated 'best before' date. Egg-white, 'Brugse kant'-like lacing, medium thick, irregular-bubbled, opening head, cloudy apricot blonde robe with pale orangey tinge. Aroma very dank but also clearly faded, damp marijuana and diesel, egg yolk, kumquat, moist white pepper, green mango, pink grapefruit, lychee, grass, green garden weeds. Sweetish onset, 'clean' and hoppy tropical fruitiness, hinting at lychee and mango but in a somewhat restrained way for this style, probably due to age; medium carb, supple doughy malt body, bit bready, under weedy and mildly tropical but still colourful happiness, again lychee and kumquat notes alongside marijuana, sweet red onion and celery, also providing a late and soft, but structurally very important bitterness, a bit zesty and peppery. Too old for sure, but based on experience I can reconstruct it in my head in fresh form and there is no doubt for me that this must have been a great NEIPA when it was young; a tad too dank for me perhaps, but otherwise it held up rather well for a beer in this style. Definitely one I intend to revisit fresh.
