"The most convivial of ales" as described (and often imbibed) by 'The Bard' himself has become the adopted beer of the bohemian vagabonds of the Scottish arts scene. A pale golden brew, that is cold stored with gooseberries to deliver a sharp refreshing drinking experience.

(330 ml bottle at Haket, Gothenburg) Shady straw yellow color, white head. Very sweet, almost pungent, scent. Some pumpkin and cinnamon smell as well. Almost artificial plastic sweet taste. Unpleasant sharp bitterness. Thin mouth feel. Watery after taste. Can’t feel the hops, can’t feel the wheat. Offered several friends to taste it, but none wanted any more after the first sip. Can’t feel any gooseberry either.

(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy orangey golden with a small, white head. Some yeast sediment and impurities. Weak berry aroma - or perhaps rather herbal?? Medium body and sweetish malty with a vague touch of fruit. Limited bitterness. Superfluous. 270806

Pours hazy gold into a shaker. Bright white micro head with good retention. Fruit (gooseberry?) notes. Flat turning slightly crisp with upfront yeast and malt and a lasting bitter fruit finish.

Bottled (Thanks tbone_!). Golden colour, small white head. Strong salad and berries in aroma, along with some hints of hops. Flavour is dry gooseberryish. with hints of hops and some wheat. Very crispy and refreshing beer. Surely quite "alternative" to much I’ve had before. Rating #1700.

[Bottle] Hazy pale brown colour. Not much head. Herbal cough drop aroma. Thin and watery. Flavour is very much similar to the aroma.

Hazy light brown color with a thin frothy white head. Aroma of spice and floral hints. Sweet spiced flavor with some floral and fruity flavors lightly sour.

Slightly hazy golden color, short white head. Aroma of sharp gooseberry, some hop, barnyard. Taste is sweet, bit spicy and fruity, some wheat. Not my kind of beer.

Bottle: Poured a light hazy brown color ale with a nice beige foamy head with pretty good retention. Aroma of gooseberries is easily detectable along with some malt and weird spices. Sweetness is overwhelming and well balance with the malt. Nice refreshing drink with some originality.

A hazy orange beer with a nice creamy off-white head. The aroma is very spicy and sharp - I can’t really pick out the individual parts - but I pick up honey and grapefruit. The flavor is weird - a lot of wheat and a lot of spices - though I can’t pick them out - not even the gooseberries. The mouthfeel is very smooth and the end dry and a bit watery.
