Redhook Long Hammer IPA is a West Coast classic. The generous addition of hops during the brewing and fermentation process gives our India Pale Ale its characteristic bitterness and piney citrus aroma and flavor. Tracing its heritage from another Redhook classic beer, Ballard Bitter, Long Hammer IPA is one of America’s favorite IPAs and Seattle’s #1 local IPA.

Bottled 355ml. -from Rudat Dortmund. Unclear golden coloured, small off-white head, light fruity nose. Sweet malty, citrusy and fruity hoppy, notes of caramel and grass near the end. Pretty ordinary or should I say (below) average brew.

Draught. Golden yellow cloudy appearance with small foamy whitish head, floral hops aroma, medium carbonation, weak and watery taste with light hops flavor, not such a long finish. Not a very remarkable beer.

Dark gold color. a rarely recent 375ML bottling. 1 finger head that fades to nothing. Smells like hay, some copper pennies and pine oil. Taste is very thin, weak, some penny, wheat, copper, pine oil finish. The finish is a bit like jalapeño peppers and more pine cones.

Bottle at home from Whole Foods picadilly. Aroma is light grassy hop, light toasted malt, mineral, and a bit of berry. Crystal clear golden coloured pour with a lasting frothy white head. Flavour is composed of grassy , wet grass hop, bark, firm but rough bitterness. Malt profile is clean with a little biscuit. Finish is kinda rough with a little metalic abrasiveness. Palate is light bodies, highish carbonation and a bit abrasive on the tongue.

Keg in the Bootlegger, High Wycombe. Deep gold with a thin white head and a very light fizz. Light pine and floral flavours in a beer that seems quite thin and watery for the ABV. I mean, I like the flavour and it’s nice and refreshing but it’s a bit anaemic really- it drinks like a much weaker beer. Still an ok beer though.

Keg at the Lazy Fox, Fulham. Amber, clear, lovely. Pine, peaches, resin in the heady scent. Bittersweet, finely balanced with a slightly more bitter kick in the aftertaste. Certainly worth drinking.

Can@The Social, Copenhagen (25DKK weekly special) - golden pour with a good white head. Aroma and taste is sweet fruity and malty, some biscuity caramel malts, citrus fruits, some pine and grassy notes, good thirst quencher and easy drinking for the abv. Nice.

Golden with a white head - Good fruity hop aroma - Good malt to support a good hop profile with fruits and some pine - Long hop finish that has fruits, some pine and it ends dry This was good
