Bottle. Poured copper amber with thick white head. Much lacing. Lekker hoppy aroma. Thin malty body with a bit of hoppiness. Disappointing. Flat finish, some metal in the finish. This bear began much better than it ended.

Clear orange/amber coloured body with a very thin slightly off-white head. Some bubbles rise from the bottom, but not many. Aroma of fresh hops, some malt, a bunch of nuts and a little spice. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour with a prolonged nutty and yeastie flavour with an aftertaste of pure bread. Somewhat complex up front fading to a quick one-dimensional flavour that lasts and lasts. Overall, not a great beer - definitely one that could be passed up for better seasonals. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia, bottled on 04.February.2008, drunk on 17-March-2008.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a grassy hops and light malt. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a sour malt and a metallic finish. Not much going on with this one.

Red Hook Copper, on tap at the Bocktown. Looks like any other ubiquitous pale yellow American beer. Has a big white head with both small and large bubbles. Aroma is slightly copperlike (!) and almost hoppy. Perhaps I smell a little fruitiness also. A taste of mild hops greets yer taste buds. Has some flavors of brown ale or Belgian doubles. Seem to be a little watered down at times. However there is nice medium carbonation. No bitterness on the back of the throat even tho it has a slight hoppiness on the initial flavors. The finish is mildly bitter but does not hang or linger. A likeable and repeatable beer. Just as good as Great Divide Ridgeline Amber Ale (Arapahoe Amber). The emphasis is on flavor rather than feel.

Non-offensive to an almost offensive degree. The beer pours a nice color, but it is almost like you’re drinking nothing. Not like drinking water, but like beer that is completely neutral.

A fair little pale ale. Spicy, somewhat metallic nose of possibly noble hops. Amber, rather than copper color, with medium ordinary head. Flavor initially softly presented, with a medium body and light carbonation. Malts are understated but lightly bready and offer just enough sweetness. Hop flavors are minimal, slightly tingly and spicy, perhaps citric. There’s an astringent, possibly carbonic bite right before the semi-dry balanced finish. A good pale ale, all things considered.

Pour is a golden with a thin white head. Aroma is hard to come by. Nothing really happening. Flavor is a little better. Some thin malts with a grassy hoppyness but not much else to say as this is kinda boring.

Somewhat dissapointing. The flavor starts off well with hints of citrus, maltiness, and little hoppiness. There really was no finish to this brew. The taste disapears quickly. Weak taste for an amber ale.

Bottle Poures a clear medium amber with a modest off-white head that quickly disolves leaving very little lacing. Aroma is of bread and yeast, and very little hops. Flavor has a little more of the hoppy slant. Otherwise it is somewhat bitter, not pparticularly interesting. Feel is pretty thin and the aftertaste is just slight bitter woody flavor. Nothing special...Gllad I’m thirsty

2003 or 2004 bottle. Lovely medium-orange-amber color, with a touch of sediment floating around. Decent white head. Appearance looks great so far. Aroma is citrus hops, grapefruit, orange marmalade and some more fruity spiciness compliments of the hops. Flavor is moderately bitter, but well-balanced (relative to the style of course). Which by the way, how is this an amber ale??? Anyways, it’s got a good dry toffee/caramel like malt that dosent get too sweet but holds the bitterness in check. The finish had plenty of orange zest, grapefruit and a hint of bitter pininess. Body is medium, lively carbonation, hint of thinning and very drinkable. Loved it, actually, but then, I havent had a West Coast hopped beer for a while, so maybe I was just missing them. Thanks so much for the beer, Andre.
