We introduce new special guest in our brewery. It is India Pale Ale (IPA). Our IPA is top-fermented beer brewed from Czech ingredients and two kinds of American hops ( Amarillo and Cascade). It combines full malt body with high hop bitterness and hoppy aroma.

Note: Replaced in early 2023 by a rotating selection of IPAs. Last batch before had Citra as well.

Hazy amber with slow bubbles. The aroma is American - a mix of woody and tropical fruit notes. Drips with resiny, berryish, fruity, sticky hops. A bit weedy in the finish. Lots of malt stickiness.

On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy amber with a firm and lasting off-white head. Aroma filled with fruity and spicy hops, especially orange peel, peach, mango and strawberry. Fruity sweet flavour with spicy hops too, medium bitterness and great drinkability. If you imagine in your head what a Czech brewed American IPA would be like, this is it. Elegant, balanced, and with a certain rusticness from the good malts and the Saaz hops accompanying the Amarillo and Cascades.

My Rating 6400. Draught @ Norbert Brewpub, Strahov Prague. Pours cloudy golden with a small lasting white head. Nose is dominated by fresh hops. Citrus and grass. Dry, smooth, oily and super crisp hoppy flavor. Well balanced and extremely tasty. One of the best IPA’s ive had . .

Draught at the brewpub. Dark copper-amber color with a low head. Big american hop aroma, citrus, grass. Nice balance with caramel-fruits, cherry, big hops. Nicely controlled sweetness with a big bitter hop burn. Very good Czech IPA.

On tap: Deep golden to orangey coloured, medium-sized off-white head, sticking to the glass; moderate to solid piney and fruity (pineapples) nose with some malty spots; solid dryish bitter-sweet flavour, almost medium bodied, a bit fizzy; really lingering hoppy finish, well balanced by a good dash of malt. The Bohemian hop-bomb. Worth a journey.......

On tap at the Klásterní Pivovar Strahov brewpub, Prague on 12 July 2010. Copper to gold with yellow white head. Grassy and grapefruit hops (noted that Amarillo and Cascade hops were in use) backed up by a strong malt background that balances it perfectly. A rich hoppy aftertaste follows, delivered on a zingy and engaging mouthfeel. One of the best brew-pub IPAs I have had the pleasure to taste outside the UK and America. Exquisite.

draught at Zly Casy. Clear deep golden colour, bitter-sweet with a solid malty base and lots and lots of delicious citrusy and bitter hops. Slightly sourish and woody in the lingering finish. A delicious IPA. Brilliant!
