On keg at Brewdog Lothian Rd, Edinburgh. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - deep dark chocolate and smoke. Caramel and light sweetening booze note. Taste - complex with rocky road and burnt toffee. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy yet roasty middle and finish. Overall - very nice.

Lovely stuff this. Vanilla, a little liquorice, loads of toasty malt, lactose and a little warming booziness. Rich and smooth.

Keg @ Alexandra Beer House, Halifax. Very dark, sweet, milky and mildly sticky in its roasted malts. There's a hint of nut and never feels its strength, so is quite dangerous! Lovely stuff.

Tap. Devonshire Cat, Sheffield. Nearly black. Thin, super dense, semi lacing, beige head. Nose has sweet cocoa powder. Vanilla. Some caramel fudge. Taste is fairly harsh, roast bitterness. Quite dry and a little tart. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish. Ok.
