Can from Cork & Cask. Clear amber body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of nuts and caramel. Flavour of berries, earth and marzipan. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Roasted and warming. It’s great to see a non-German brewing trying and succeeding at brewing German styles.

Can. Wine Rack, Sharrow, Sheffield. Clear, copper amber colour. Pretty thick, lasting, lacing, off white head. Nose has syrupy grain. Caramel. Touch of hop spice. Some grassy hop. Taste is sticky, caramel sweet, with a peppery spice bitterness. Medium body. Foamy carbonation. A tad oily and slick. Moderate bitterness to finish. I wouldn’t know a decent Märzen if it smacked me on the arse, but whatever, I enjoyed this.

Keg at Unit 9. Pours dark orange gold with a thin off white head. Aroma is toffee, malt, caramel. Taste is a real big malt bomb. Lots of grain plus and little sweetness from caramel. Quite clean and dry. Not bad at all.
