Aroma of cocoa, dark chocolate, roasted malt, burnt toffee, tar, molasses, black treacle, biscuit. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness and body. Slightly creamy, average to soft carbonation. 0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before December 2022. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and gently fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and a touch of licorice. Gently sweet, malty, quite roasty, slightly bitter, a bit fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, some dark fruits and hints of hazelnut, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Interesting style, brewed on point, really well-balanced, quite good!

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Black with a tan head. Lightly roasted malts with some dried dark fruits (dates, raisins). Sweet taste with a low bitter finish. Reminds me a bit of a good Belgian dubbel but with some more roasted notes.
