Dark Roast is a powerfull, dark beer, packed with flavour. The roasted flavours originate from the roasted malts and the local roasted coffee from hetkoffielab.nl. This beer combines great with ripe cheeses, desserts and a crackling fire. The Imperial Dark Roast is the stronger version of it's little brother.

From tap at Taplokaal Gist, Utrecht. Aroma is lots of beany coffee with mocha, some chocolate, more coffee. Mild sweet with a roasty bitterness. Medium to full body, nice coffee blast. A little beefed up version of the regular Dark Roast.

33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from friends. Pitch black with a small beige head. Coffee aroma with gentle roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is medium sweet with a low bitter coffee finish. Although a coffee stout the coffee isn't overly aggressive so it's a nice smooth beer.
