Our good friends at Brew Culture tipped us off on a brand new hop bursting with tropical goodness and so naturally we needed to try it…and by try it, we mean throw bags and bags of it into a new triple IPA. Tango*, developed by Seitz Farm in Germany, is super dynamic with big notes of mango, pineapple, cassis, and geranium. We combined it with stalwarts Citra and Azacca and laid it on a bed of Canadian Pilsner, Oats, and Spelt to create a beer that is soft, dry, and begs to be known. Right now**, we’re getting big aromas and flavours of Papaya Flesh, Young Mango, Pineapple, Orange Rind, Dankness, Cassis & Geranium.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Murky pale blond colour. Fruity aroma and flavour; dominated by citrus peel, zest; moderately sweet, with balanced bitterness; it hides the alcohol quite well; but it's a bit too muddy and astringent, dirty.

Semi-milky yellow body and some modest foam on top. Smells of subtle fresh pineapple, surprisingly unintense. Taste is great soft chalkiness on fresh papaya, lychee, pineapple notes. Bone dry, crisp, no hint of the booze. Really nice, very well crafted.

473mL can, pours an opaque, dirty peachy orange with a small white head. Nose is fairly chalky, with some dank hops, stone fruit, pith, earthiness, and sweet caramel malt. Flavour is vibrant, with lots of bursting tropical and stone fruit upfront, followed by dank citrus hops, some bitter citrus rind, and plenty of sweet caramel malt backing. The bitter citrus rind finishes the palate nicely, with plenty of fruit always discernible. Somewhat sludgy palate, but not too chalky. Not exactly my favourite type of IIPA, but insofar as hazy ones go, this is pretty good.

Murky yellow gold with a rich white head. Sweet perfumy tropical fruit. Tropical notes with just a touch of heat. Nice for the ABV.
