Gare de Roubaix è una birra ambrata ad alta fermentazione che trova la sua origine nelle bieres de garde belghe, birre di ispirazione agricola tipiche della tradizione birraria del nord est della Francia. È una birra che ha il suo punto di forza nel corpo, rotondo e pieno, conferitole dai malti chiari e ambrati usati per produrla. L’uso di luppoli nobili tedeschi le conferisce un amaro elegante che fa da ideale contraltare al gusto maltato. A tavola si sposa egregiamente con le preparazioni a base di carne e con i formaggi stagionati ed erborinati. Il suo nome, oltre a richiamare con un gioco di parole e pronuncia lo stile di riferimento, vuole evidenziare l’ecletticità di questa birra, i cui ingredienti provengono dalle principali nazioni birrarie europee trovando una metafora in una stazione ferroviaria, oltre a delinearne lo stile di bevuta: calmo e lento, come l’attesa del prossimo viaggio.

(Bottle) Dark brownish red colour with creamy, beige head. Malty nose with dried fruit, fruit cake, apricot marmalade, orange and spices. Malty taste with notes of caramel, fruit cake, toffee, apricot marmalade, spices and orange peel. Low bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and harmonious. Nice one.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Deep amber, small off-white head.Aroma is floral, some fruity, mild earthy tones with mild sweetness. Flavour is fruity, some floral, wooden, earthy and some mild sweet malty tones. Herbal and some earthy tones in aftertaste. Quite ok Biere de Garde.

ABV: 6.4%. ✅ Clear medium amber orange colour with a huge, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, wheat, dried fruit - honey, moderate yeasty, fruity yeast, sweet yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, dried fruit, sweet yeast, fruity yeast, nectar - honey - sweet caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to lively. [20210526]

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Clear amber, rich firm head. Floral, lightly caramel aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and boiled cabbage, light floral hops. Low bitterness. Too much DMS.
