The enticing beer innovation! Whoever is looking for an extremely special taste experience has found it with the Zwickl Rot. Its special flavour comes from a unique beer recipe which includes melanoidin malt. A special and extremely complex malting process gives the Zwickl Rot its typical red colour and unmistakeable chocolate and caramel notes. Austria's first amber, naturally cloudy and unique unfiltered red beer was bottled in 2001.

Edit 11/2022. Bread, herbal, yeasty aroma. Hazy copper body, thick persistant white head. Fruity, bread, citrus, cherry, yeasty. Very good dark zwickl. 0,5 l, draught, pub (Philosoph), Vienna. # 3244; 10/2022. Very good and drinkable darker zwickl. 0,5 l, draught, pub (Schweizerhaus), Vienna. 6-7-3-14=*3,3

Tap. Cloudy Orange amber, offwhite cream. Medium full, chewy, sparkly, light grain, fruity, relatively anonymous.

Tap at Stadtboden, Vienna. Pours hazy dark amber with a lasting creamy off-white head. Aroma of malt, hop, fruit, yeast and grain. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness, touch of sour. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

Pours unclear amber, small white head. Smell is bit bitter, some aromatic ambermalts. Taste is intense aromatic malts, very clear and natural. Light bitter. Very Nice, actually.

On Tap at Plachutta, Vienna. Hazy, brown colour with a nice head. Yeasty aroma with malts. Taste is malt and yeast with some hops. Seems to be a refreshing, easy drinking beer with no highlights, but a clear structure.

Medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes of bread, yeast, malts. Finishes with bread and yeast. Decent enough, overall not too interesting..

Tap at brewery shop. Hazy amber red color with medium white head. Yeast, caramel, light fruity notes in aroma. Taste, caramel,yeast, fruity notes.
